Facial fillers are known as dermal fillers, wrinkle fillers, cheek, chin and even jawline fillers. They come in a range of viscosities for different face areas. The midface is a common area targeted due to depleted skin collagen from aging. We sculpt and restore collagen in face areas which lifts existing face wrinkles too.
Fillers For The Midface
Injectable facial fillers come in a variety of formulations. Each formulation has a specific purpose in sculpting. They are designed to replace lost collagen volume that occurs with age. Depleted collagen in the skin is what causes face wrinkles.
Where is the product injected? The mid-face is common area where we inject dermal fillers. The underlying issue is a sunken midface. When the midface “sinks” from age-related collagen loss, we see:
- Sagging/undefined cheekbones.
- Nasolabial folds...also called smile or laugh lines.
The real solution: Restoring structure to the midface. A structured midface is composed of a single, visually smooth aesthetic zone that starts at the cheekbone and seamlessly curves from under the eye to the corners of the mouth.
Some patients need more product than others. We recommend a non-surgical mini face lift to correct wrinkles and smooth fine lines in that situation. This consists of at least three (3) syringes of dermal filler. The result is a younger appearance for our patients.
Facial Fillers Reshape Chin
Facial fillers are mostly hyaluronic acid, which is a hydrating solution designed to keep the skin full and plump. When the product is injected into the skin, it restores otherwise sunken features in order to eliminate lines and smooth face skin.
Chin and jawline shaping is one procedure we do a lot. The female patient's chin looks much improved. We use dermal fillers to improve balance and we can reshape the face if genetics or aging has made it necessary.
Reshaping the chin and softening jowls can make a big difference in your appearance. We sculpt a stronger more defined chin at the jawline. We replace depleted collagen volume in the cheeks. Then we inject product in the chin to refill lost volume. The combination redefines the jawline for a better appearance.
This is relatively painless as the patient only experiences a few needle pricks. We use a canula to guide product into place as we sculpt. The result is subtle and effective. The patient receives a more defined jawline and chin.
If sagging skin is more advanced, a non-surgical thread lift is recommended.
Get Ready For Facial Fillers
It is only natural that our skin begins to change with age. While there are many types available, the most common ingredient found in dermal filler is hyaluronic acid.

Additionally, hyaluronic acid has a unique relationship with collagen. Studies have found evidence that the relative collagen levels in your skin will increase in the presence of hyaluronic acid, which is one of the reasons why hyaluronic acid is preferred. Hyaluronic acid also takes a longer amount of time to break down in the body, meaning patients can realize lasting results.
What about combining other treatments to get the results you want? You may also consider additional treatments to enhance the results. For example, anti-wrinkle injections, also called neurotoxin, will relax the muscles in your face to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly on the forehead, between the brows, and around the nose and mouth.

Pre-Visit Instructions
Stop all blood thinners. This includes: vitamin E, aspirin, advil, anti-inflammatories, alcohol, omega-3, ginko, and St. John’s Wort. Stop 4 to 5 days prior to appointment.
Avoid the following products 2 days prior to appointment: Retin- A, retinoids, or similar vitamin A compounds, harsh scrubs or exfoliating products, or bleaching creams.
We suggest taking Arnica tablets 3 days prior to injections to prevent bruising.
We recommend scheduling your appointment 1 to 2 weeks prior to a special event as bruising is possible with everyone.
Avoid dental work 2 weeks pre-visit.
Post-Visit Instructions
Avoid extreme temperatures of heat for 24-48 hours post visit (i.e. Jacuzzi, hot showers, extreme sun).
Use Arnica gel or Arnica tablets to help with bruising.
Wait 2 weeks for full results.
Do not exercise for 24-48 hours after appointment.
If swelling and bruising occurs, use cold compresses or ice packs to reduce swelling.
Avoid excessive touching or massaging the treated areas for 24 hours. You can wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
Avoid dental work 2 weeks post-visit.
