Burlington Med Spa

Acne develops when pores become clogged. Pimples can occur anywhere on the body. Acne scars can develop if the condition is untreated. Benzoyl peroxide, differin gel, and proactiv can help. Presciption remedies include Accutane®. We focus on peels, microneedling and plasma facial therapy before drugs.

What Is Acne?

Nearly everyone develops at least a few breakouts during the teenage years. It’s impossible to predict who will develop more severe acne, but you have a higher risk if one or both of your parents (or other close blood relative) had severe acne that left them with acne scars. The good news is that you don’t have to live with it. Today, virtually every case can be treated successfully.

It is a common skin condition that occurs when hair follicles under the skin become clogged. Sebum, oil that helps keep skin from drying out, and dead skin cells plug the skin pores, which leads to outbreaks of lesions, commonly called pimples, blemishes or zits. Most often, the outbreaks occur on the face. Pimples can also appear on the back, chest, and shoulders.

There are many types and patients can have more than one type at the same time. The two types are inflammatory and noninflammatory. Inflammatory refers to blackheads and we treat those easily. Some common inflammatory types include hormonal, fungal and cystic acne. These types can be more difficult to treat and may require medication. But before pursuing drugs we recommend you have routine med spa therapy.

How We Treat Acne

Anyone suffering from the condition can benefit from our medical grade therapies. Whether you have comedones, black heads, white heads, inflammatory, noninflammatory, hormonal or other type, you will benefit from med spa treatments.

When it comes to treating any major skin concerns, consistency is the key to see the most effective long-term results. Incorporating med spa therapies into your skincare routine is a great way to maintain your skin. Microneedling, plasma facials and chemical peel treatments will benefit you.

Daily use of specific skincare products is also helpful for long lasting results. The ailment is caused by oil and dirt buildup on your skin. Fight it by keeping your face clean and fresh with medicated wash, exfoliants and hydrating cleanser.

Get Ready For Acne Treatment

Acne is the term for the pimples and complexion problems that trouble many teenagers and adults. Pimples mainly develop on the face, but they can often be found on the neck, chest, back, and upper arms as well. It is only a skin problem, and typically has nothing to do with your general health.

The condition can sometimes feel like a bully that won’t leave you alone, or worse yet, a recurring nightmare. Not only can pimples and blemishes put a damper on your confidence, but they can also be painful. Know that you aren’t alone in the fight. We can help you say goodbye to acne once and for all. We will plan a personalized skin care journey of medical-grade therapies.

Along with the ailment, one of the worst side effects of the ailment is the permanent scarring that can often be left behind. Collagen Induction Therapy, also known as microneedling, is one of the most effective ways to get rid of acne scars.

As a precaution we recommend the following patient actions prior to treatment.
