Get Ready For Cellulite Treatment
Cellulite in your skin leads to skin dimpling, sometimes referred to as orange peel or cottage cheese looking skin texture. Whatever it is called, women do not like it.
Within our skin layers, fibrous bands of collagen, known as fibrous septae, connect the skin to the underlying muscle. These septae partition off lobes of fat located in the sub-dermis, the third layer of skin.
Cellulite forms when bands of fibrous septae thicken and shrink. The deformity causes the fiber to tug down where it attaches to the skin. This tension causes lobes of fat to protrude around the septae. This leads to the dimpled appearance associated with cellulite.
Cellulite is completely harmless. However, the appearance causes concern for most women. Fortunately, there is a better solution that reduces cellulite without the use of scalpels, painful freezing or intense lasers.
Cellulite injections work most effectively as a package of three sessions spaced at consecutive monthly intervals. What happens during your treatment? First a numbing cream is used for patient comfort.
A precise amount of medication is injected in a grid pattern on the skin area to be treated. The medication is injected in a targeted area of the body. Most patients prefer to have 2 areas areas treated during a single visit.
Our licensed practitioner marks a grid pattern on the skin which ensures the injections are adequately spaced for optimal results. Normally there is swelling afterwards and this is expected. Some discomfort will be felt for a couple of days as excess fat cells begin to dissolve.
Patients who have undergone injections typically have bruising that can last one to two weeks. Patients report mild to moderate soreness alleviated with acetaminophen or ibuprofen. There is mild to moderate swelling for the first few days, as well. You can go to the gym and lead an active lifestyle the day after being treated.

Pre-Visit Instructions
Avoid using the following products 2 days prior to your appointment: Retin- A, retinoids, or similar vitamin A compounds, harsh scrubs or exfoliating products, or bleaching creams.
Eat a small meal or snack before your visit.
Take a non-drowsy benadryl and a Tylenol day of your appointment for patient comfort.
Schedule your appointment at least 2-3 weeks prior to a special event as bruising is possible for everyone.
Stop blood thinners 3 days prior to your visit: This includes: vitamin E, aspirin, advil, naproxen, ibuprofen, anti-inflammatories, alcohol, omega-3, ginko, St.John’s Wort.
We suggest taking Arnica tablets 3 days prior to injections to minimize bruising. Arnica tablets are available in most pharmacies or you can purchase Arnica tablets at our clinic.
Post-Visit Instructions
Do NOT use the following products 2 days after your appointment (or until redness has subsided): Retin- A, retinoids, or similar vitamin A compounds, harsh scrubs or exfoliating products, or bleaching creams.
Avoid extreme temperatures of heat for 24 hours post procedure. (i.e. Jacuzzi, hot tub, hot showers etc.).
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours post procedure.
Sleep on your back with your head elevated to decrease swelling for under chin and neck procedures. You will have swelling and bruising for 3-5 days post visit.
Use cold compresses or ice packs to reduce swelling.
Results are seen in 4-6 weeks, but full results take about 12 weeks.
You may wear compression leggings for lower body procedures to help ease any discomfort for the first few days if needed.
